Hello!

I’m Ms. Butler, an art teacher dedicated to building an inclusive, imaginative, and joyful studio space for students from K-12. I believe every student has a unique voice, and my goal is to nurture their creativity across all mediums while fostering a space where they feel seen, heard, and inspired. I care about understanding who each student is and what I can learn from them! Together, we’ll create a studio we can’t wait to get into where we connect through the process of art-making.

Beyond the classroom, I spend my weekends visiting with our city of San Diego with my mom (also an artist), my husband, our 6-year-old daughter, and our energetic terrier, Martha.

Handel’s Mint Oreo in a sugar cone. Hufflepuff (but for Halloween I’ll be Bellatrix Lestrange). The Dalí Museum in Figueres, Spain. The Exploratorium in San Francisco. All of NYC. Ethiopian and Lebanese cuisine. I have always wanted to learn how to tap dance. I dislike waste. I was born and raised in L.A. People have told me that I’m dynamic, warm, empathetic, and resourceful.

Art is about connection, and I love getting to know each student and helping them find their own creative path. Let’s explore, take risks, get messy, and make something impactful together!
